Switch it Off

How much of the energy you buy, do you waste - 10%...20%...30%?

For most homes it's at least 50% and half of that could be from things left on when they're not needed.

Every year, just by switching things off you can save £100s in energy bills, reduce carbon dioxide pollution by 1,000s of kgs and leave tonnes of fuel in the ground for following generations.

Switching things off costs you nothing. It takes little effort other than remembering to do it. Previous generations did it naturally because its common sense. For the future of the next generation, we have to do the same.

The councils of Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Coventry have joined forces to promote a switch it off campaign. This includes everyone whether at home, at work, at school or travelling. If you live in those areas you will see articles in the local media, events in local centres and possibly information from you employer helping you to see how much you can save.

We have information sheets for homes, offices, schools and transport giving some facts and figures that will show you where you can make savings and how much money you should be able to save. If you want to use the campaign materials for your own community or business events you can download them here.
